Cade Yeager and fellows help Optimus Prime and the Autobots in taking on a new challenge versus evil,on battle survived earth.It was the only movie in 2014 to cross the World-Wide Gross of 1 Billion US Dollars,despite negative reviews,6 golden raspberry nominations and being the lowest North America grossing film in the series.

2.The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies US $956 Million

A third and final instalment of movie series based on J R R Tolkien's novel Hobbit ,directed by Peter Jackson where Men, Elves and Dwarves unite to take on threat was the second highest grossing movie of the year.
3.Guardians of the Galaxy US $774 Million

The super-hero film based on Marvel Comics Superhero team of the same name collected almost four times of the budget.
4.Maleficent US $758 Million

The dark fantasy movie based on the antagonist of classic fantasy story Sleeping Beauty.The movie presents a sympathetic version of the character in contrast to the earlier versions. Maleficent directed by Robert Stromberg collected 241 Million US Dollars in North America and 517 Million US Dollars from rest of the world.Japan and China contributed more than 100 Million US Dollars between them.


5.The Hunger Games: Mocking-jay – Part 1 US $755 Million

The sci-fi war film directed by Francis Lawrence,the first film based on Mocking Jay, the final book in Hunger Games trilogy.The movie collected about seven times its budget and more than 50% of the gross came from outside North America.

6.X-Men: Days of Future US $ 748 Million

The seventh movie in X-Men series which stands sequel to both 2006 and 2011 movies in the series was directed by Bryan Singer and became the highest grossing movie in X-Men series

7.Captain America: The Winter Soldier US $714 Million

The sequel to 2011 Captain America movie was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and like most of the highest grossing movies,the major chunk of the collections were from outside North America.

8.Dawn of the Planet of the Apes US $710 Million

The sequel to 2011 sci-fi film Rise of the Planet of Apes was directed by Matt Reeves.The movie recovered its budget from North America and 500 million US Dollars came from rest of the world.

9.The Amazing Spider-Man 2 US $708 Million

The fifth Spider Man movie and the sequel to the 2012 movie 'The Amazing Spider-Man' directed by Marc Webb,though the lowest grossing movie in the Spider-Man series with mixed reviews it was one of the top 10 highest grossing movies of 2014.It was not able to recover its budget from North America,but the collections from the rest of the world helped.

10.Interstellar US $675 Million

The sci-fi movie directed by Christopher Nolan which explored the possibility of a dwelling alternative for humanity and reaching there through a wormhole was a commercial success.It recovered its cost in North America and more than 70 % of gross was from outside North America.
